I was always told that one of my ancestors had the largest funeral Halifax had ever seen. I assumed, wrongly, that my family must have had lots of money, Benjamin was a leading Chartist fighting to stop some of the terrible conditions. He died a pauper but an estimated 10,000 people attended his funeral. So my family had been rich , in history not money . My Grandfather was Jesse Feather (b. abt 1890, Keighley), whose sister (Annie, b. abt 1879, Keighley) was married to William Bancroft (b. abt 1880, Bingley). Jesse was brought up by the Bancrofts after his Father (James Feather, b. abt 1849, Stanbury) died.Martynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06959631518843523408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7769333290499532322.post-52252138974171781192013-08-24T04:30:47.909+01:002013-08-24T04:30:47.909+01:00My ancestors were also handloom weavers in Lindley...My ancestors were also handloom weavers in Lindley, near Huddersfield.
